Hands-on Science Workshop – Trinity House Heritage Hill

4 Day Hands-on Science Workshop

Trinity House Heritage Hill Preschool children participated in a 4 day Hands-on Science Workshop. The Workshop focused on States of Matter and the children performed hands-on science experiments with solids, liquids and gases. During the workshop the learners performed Hands-on Experiments with 40 kg of dry ice, 50 liters of Vinegar, 10kg of bicarbonate soda, 30 liters of Slime mixture, 200 eggs and 300 balloons.

Students participating learned that:

  • Matter has three forms: solid, liquid, and gas
  • That each state of matter has distinct properties
  • That heat plays a role in changing matter from one property to another

The children learned to Observe like a scientist – Listen with your ears, see with your eyes, feel or touch with your hands, taste with your tongue, and smell with your nose.
